A fire is lit and the priest welcomes us. The fire is blessed and the large Easter candle is lit. Then, we process into the church lighting our individual candles from the Easter candle. when all the candles are lit. The church is aglow. The light of Christ has broken through the darkness of sin and death.

This is done in memory of Jesus act of washing the disciples feet. During this ritual, reflect on who has been a servant in your life and on whom god has called u to serve.
