showing grace and mercy for what they have done wrong
what is justice?
bringing about what is right and fair

what are nuclear weapons?
weapons that work by a nuclear reaction
what are weapons of mass destruction?
weapons that can kill large amounts of people and/or cause great damage
what are chemical weapons?
weapons that use chemicals to burn, poison or paralyse humans and destroy the natural envrionment
what are biological weapons?
weapons that have living organisms or infective materials that can lead to disease or death
what does “you shall not murder” show?
it is a fundamental Christian belief that only God has the authority to end the life he created
what is the just war theory?
a series of moral principles that must be strictly observed if an act of war is to be justified
what is a holy war?
fighting for a religious cause or God, possibly cause by a religious leader
what is pacifism?
a person who believes war and violence are never justifiable and that all conflicts should be settled in a peaceful way
Christian view of war:
many Christians accept that there are circumstances when it is necessary to use armed conflict and will fight in a Just War
Quaker view of war:
Quakers believe that war and conflict are against God’s wishes and so they are dedicated to pacifism and non-violence
