a set of guidelines required for a war to be considered ‘just’

All other methods of achieving peace must have been tried

The country must only seek to achieve peace from the war
Legitimate Authority
The person declaring war must be in the position to do so
Right Intention
The country declaring war must do so with the intention of creating peac
Principle of Discrimination
only target things relating to the war effort (not civilians)
Behaviour of Troops
the country must guarantee the behaviour of its troops
Reasonable chance of success
there must be a reasonable chance the war will be successful
Proportionality
the damage of going to war must not outweigh the damage of not
Holy War
a religious war
Crusades
a series of military expeditions to recover holy land from the muslims
Pacifism
the principle that violence is never the answer
Pacifist
somebody who believes in pacifism
Conscientious Objectors
people who have a moral objection to going to war
