Q

Explain what happened to the Jews during WW2 and how they were easily led to their deaths

A

During World War 2, Jews were portrayed as evil and threats through Propaganda put out by the Russians which made them an easy target and stopped the Russian people from disagreeing with the executions

Many Jews were tricked into thinking that they were simply being relocated for work/safety concerns. Jews were told to gather all of their belongings and board trains without knowing that they would never see their belongings again.

Once at the extermination/concentration camps, there was nothing the Jews could due to escape, leading to the execution of millions of Jews. The huge Russian army that forced people out of their homes was another reason

Q

How did Constantine decide to make Christianity the official Roman religion? 1 political and 1 religious reason.

A

Political: Constantine wanted to reunite the nation by giving his people what they wanted so he could gain support from other Christians and create as strong and big of an army that he could. Constantine needed to make this decision if he wanted to maintain stability within the Roman Empire. (prevented civil wars)

Religious: Constantine had a vision of a cross in the sky with an inscription reading “In this sign, you will conquer” meaning with the faith of Christianity, they will conquer and win the war united. Constantine also knew that making it the official religion was beneficial to the Roman people, who favored christianity since it was gaining popularity.

Q

Start with the pope and explain the Clergy and duties

A

At the top of the Clergy we have the Pope who is the leader of the Catholic Church and he is in charge of making the laws of church

Then we have Cardinals who are senior church officials who have a part in governing the Roman Catholic Church and help the Pope make his decisions and elect a new Pope when he passes away.

After Cardinals, we have Archbishops who lead large church districts, oversee a large area or region and has authority over other bishops. Archbishops have more power than bishops, do all the same jobs as the priests, and can be elected as Pope.

Below Archbishops, comes Bishops who oversee individual districts/local church communities. Bishops teach and govern.

Priests come after, Priests serve under bishops are responsible for leading local church communities, they perform baptisms, weddings, and Masses.

Nuns are part of the regular clergy and live an isolated life without marrying anybody, later worked for the churches by helping those in need. Monks are also apart of the regular Clergy and live isolated, often take vows of silence.
