John XXII

A

Called for the Second Vatican Council in 1962. He wanted the bishops whomgathered in the council to study the unchanging truths of the catholic church and then go out and communicate those truths in a wy that people understand in the modern world. Wrote important encyclicals in these he spoke about establishing peace, truth, justice, charity, and liberty. The first enciclical was called the Meter et Magistra-Mother and Teacher. The second social justice encylical was called Pacem in Terris-Peace on Earth. This made the church expand her message of social justice and urging peace in a age of weapons of mass destruction.
