Kingdom splits, more kings and prophets 922bc– Israel divides into two kingdoms and the kings often turn to idols to solve their problems. Phrophets come forth in both kingdoms to speak out against injustices and unfaithfulness to God. In 721bc the northern kingdom(Israel) is destroyed by the assyrians. In 587 bc, the southern kingdom(Judah) is captured by the Babylonians (Babylonian exile)

The Babylonian Exile and Jewish Dispersion 587-438 Bc–Prophets encourage the exiles of the Jews (Judah) to be faithful to God. Eventually the persians defeated the babylonians and allowed the Jews to disperse. some return to their land and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem others resettled all over the world.

More oppressors 330 Bc– the greek empire conquered the Persians and took control over the Jews for 300 years. During this time, Jews revolted led by the Maccabee family. Then the Romans ruled the world. Jews remained oppressed and hoped for the coming of the Messiah from Jing David’s family who would make them a great nation once again.
