Explain how eudaimonia links to religion
Links to the concept of heaven. When you reach heaven you have attained ultimate happiness, removed sin from your life and become closer to God. Many religious people see union with God as the ultimate aim and telos of life.
Another example would be Buddhism and the superior aim being to get to nirvana - an ultimate state of happiness
Explain how the virtues are linked to religion
In Christianity there are the 7 heavenly virtues and 7 deadly sins .
In the NT (gospel of Matthew) Jesus identifies 8 beatitudes (state of blessedness). These are similar to the virtues because they are good characteristics.
Eg- “blessed are the peacemakers”
“blessed are the merciful”

Explain how the phronimos links to religion
Christians would see Jesus as the ideal role model. He demonstrated virtues such as compassion, justice and peace making.
