Reasons for capital punishment
🔺is a deterrent
🔺true form of retribution
🔺some people only understand the language of violence
🔺a life sentence is no longer for life and so doesn’t prove a point
🔺 it is cheaper than keeping them alive
Reasons against capital punishment?
🔺mistakes have been made in the past (eg sentencing the wrong person)
🔺doesn’t give the criminal a chance to change
🔺all life is sacred
🔺it is playing God
🔺 format work as a deterrent- the U.S. Still has a murder rate
