It’s a meaningless panacea when we invent a god that can do anything and be anything…
It serves as an answer to every question and an explanation for nothing
God is not deserving of respect
A god that rewards credulity,
a god that sanctions slavery,
is unworthy of any kind of reverence or respect or devotion.
I don’t believe something based on faith.
I have reasonable expectations based on evidence.
I have trust that has been earned.
I will grant trust tentatively.
I don’t have faith.
Faith is the excuse people give for believing something when they don’t have evidence.
God’s plan
- god has an important message for mankind
- we have to rely on copies of copies of translations of copies by anonymous authors with no originals
- anecdotal testimonial reports of miracles (loaves and fishes) are not sufficient evidence
- anything that would qualify as a god would know this
- god either doesn’t exist OR doesn’t care enough about those who understand the nature of evidence to actually present it
Why is there something instead of nothing?
That makes no sense at all.
Surely, the bigger question is not why but how.

Lots of things.

Just like I don’t hate peoples with cancer; I hate cancer.
Why can’t you checkmate a Christian?
Because they are all pawns and their king doesn’t exist.
If you’re helping someone and expecting something in return…
you are doing business, not kindness.
Why do Christians get offended?
It’s not as if I follow a book that says you deserve to burn for eternity for not having the same beliefs as me.
You cannot convince a believer of anything.
For their belief is not based on evidence, it’s based on a deep seated need to believe.

Why do people believe in god?
God is a coping mechanism for people who cannot deal with the harsh realities of life.
