What does the term “God’s living word” have to do with Catholic understandings of the Bible
Catholics view the Bib;e as the living word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit relevant at all times. The Bible needs to be read in conext of tradition and interperted throguh the gidance of the Magisterium.

Biblical infallibility is the belief that what the Bible says regarding matters of faith and Christian practice is wholly useful and true.
What is Lectio Divina?
A traditional practice of spirtual reading, mediation, and prayer inted to promot communion with God. The four steps are; Read (Lectio), Meditate (Meditatio), Pray (Oratio), and Contemplate (Contemplatio)
What is proof-texting?
A proof text is a passage of scripture presented as proof for a theological doctrine, belief, or principle.
What does hermeneutics mean?
the frame work for interpreting scripture
What is the Three-tiered Universe? What does this model help us understand in biblical studies?
The skies / Heaven, the land surrounded by water, and the water below. They believed the earth was flat and the water was floating underneath anf being held by pillars
What is Exegesis and Eisegesis?
Exegesis: A framework of interpretation that “reads out” of the text of what the author/authors meant to convey
Eisegesis: reads “into the text” what the interpreter wishes to find they will find

What is the Allegorical sense?
interprets biblical events, characters, and narratives as symbols foreshadowing Christ and the Church. It reveals the deeper connection between the Old and New Testa,emts, illustrating how God’s plan unfolds through history.
What is the Moral sense?
also known as tropological sense, derives ethical teachings from Scripture.
What is the Anagogical sense
also known as the eschatological sense, focuses on the eternal and ultimate realities revealed in Scripture. It directs believers’ thoughts twoard heaven, the final judgement, and the fulfullment of God’s kingdom
