  3. “Love-bombing” – new recruits are made to feel very loved, affirmed, and at home in the cult.
  4. Cult leaders are seen as New Prophets or Messiahs.
  5. Use mind control techniques like deprivation of sleep, diet, and lack of privacy.

Q

Recruitment of cult members

A

They recruit people who are in transition, lonely or lost.

Those recruited are often risk takers, have
above average intelligence and are
approachable.

Recruiters are often found outside university and college campuses or outside counseling centers

They approach a person, get them talking, and agree with everything that is said. This is to make the person feel special.

Often a recruiter is matched with a person of the opposite sex, misleading the person into believing they are attracted to them.

Another approach is to invite someone for dinner or a lecture at someone’s home. Talk is about making the world a better place.

The recruit is invited to a “weekend workshop”. The recruit is never left alone.

There are constant people, constant activity, a diet filled with carbohydrates.

The recruit is then invited to a
“week-long workshop”. Once there it is EXTREMELY difficult not to be part of the
cult.
