What are the four forms of prayer
blessing, petition, intercession, thanksgiving and praise
What does it mean to bless or blessing?
To bless is to dedicate someone or something to God or to make something holy in God’s name
What is a pray of Petition?
Prayers of petition are prayers in which we ask something of God.
What is the most important type of petition?
asking for forgiveness
What is an intersession?
We ask for something on behalf of another person or a group of people?
What is Thanksgiving?
Prayers of thanksgiving show our graditude to God for all he has given use.
What do we show gratitude for the most
life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We do this when we pray the greatest prayer of the Church, the Eucharist
What is a prayer of praise?
We give glory to God for being God. These prayers do not involve our needs or gratitude. We praise God simply because he is God

blessings, actions, and objects that help us respond to God’s grace received in the sacraments
What are examples of sacramentals?
blessings of people, places, foods, and objects; objects such as rosaries, medals, crucifixes, blessed ashes, and blessed palms; actions such as making the Sign of the Cross and sprinkling blessed water
