define reliability
a measure of consistency, if a particular measurement is repeated and the same result is obtained then it is described as being reliable.
test-retest reliability
assessing the same person on two different occasions which shows the extent to which the test produces the same answers.
inter-observer reliability
he extent to which there is an agreement between two or more observers.
define validity
the trustworthiness of the findings and if it represents what is actually out there in the world.
ecological validity
the extent to which findings from a research study can be generalized to other settings / real life.
temporal validity
the extent to which findings from a research study can be generalized to other historical times.
