Short Reflexes
A
- Entirely within GIT tract
- Operate locally within the ENS which regulated immediate responses from the GIT
- No CNS involvement
- Distension from the presence of food & chemical changes in the intestine and stomach

Long Reflexes ( Cephalic Phase )
A
- Involves CNS
- Vagus nerve stimulates submucosal plexus, which causes contraction of smooth muscle in the gut
