A
  • creates 6-channel theory
  • = to common cold/flu
  • aka “Tai Yang Syndrome”
  • use of warming diaphoretics to induce sweating

Fx: expel wind, expel cold, warm

S/S:

  • chills more than fever
  • body aches more than headache
  • itchy/scratchy throat
  • runny nose (clear, copious mucus)
  • tongue = normal
  • tongue coat = white
  • pulse = superficial & tight
  • cough

  1. TaiYang = (UB/SI) Wind/Cold
  2. ShaoYang = (GB/SJ) alternating chills & fever (malaria)
  3. YangMing = (LI, ST) “4 Bigs” (Big fever, thirst, sweat, pulse)
  4. TaiYin = (LU/SP) Spleen Yang Deficiency Syndrome (diarrhea)
  5. ShaoYin = (HT/KI) HT/KI Disharmony ie hot/cold, bipolar, shen disturbance
  6. JueYin = (LV/PC) Separation of yin/yang, upper hot/lower cold

**6 channel theory does not explain bleeding
