Q

How do you know whether to use “qui” or “lequel/laquelle” etc.?

What is the exception to this rule?

A

“qui” is used for HUMAN antecedents, “lequel” etc. are used for NON-HUMAN antecedants.

The exception to this is after the prepositions “entre” and “parmi”. “Lequel” must be used after these regardless of if the antecedent is human or not.
