Describe the relationship Christine has with her mother
Christine has a fraught and complicated relationship with her mother. They are both strong-willed and outspoken, and they clash frequently.
Marion feels the need to bring Lady Bird down to earth on occasion and to force her to face reality.
It is hard to imagine this fractious relationship between mother and daughter will ever be repaired.

This difficult and tense moment transforms into something utterly shocking when Lady Bird jumps out of the moving car.
