Define relationships
-Is the way in which two or more people or things are connected or the state of being connected with each other
What are the different types of primary relationships and its changing nature
-Family
-Friends
-Romantic relations
-Colleagues
What are the qualities sought in relationships and explain?
-Effective communication because you can truly fully understand what you both want in the relationship.
-Trust because you can’t be truly safe or be yourself with your partner if you do not trust them
-Supportive because you can make your partner feel less alone when they are feeling down reducing depression
-Co-operation because you too can work as a team together and will always be able to bring each other up or make them accountable.
Differentiate between an abusive and non-abusive relationship.
-Abusive relationships are physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. This can lead to low self-esteem and depression
-Non-abusive relationships are frequent arguments, lack of communication or common interests, don’t get along with them.
Define Divorce
-To legally dissolve one’s marriage or to end a marriage with ones spouse by divorce.
What are ways media can impact peoples belief on relationships
-The way they portray men and women
-Have access to any material that is deemed wrong or unethical
-Cyberbullying
-TV soapies bombarded us with expectations of how men and women should behave
What are some emotions you may feel after divorce?
-Guilt: feel its your fault
-Embarrassed: dont want people to find out
-Loneliness: no one understands what you are going through
-Fear: of losing a parent
Define coping strategies
-Coping is the way people handle stress and is usually used to denote the handling of difficult situations
-The tactics used to manage crisis, conditions, and demands that are used for distressing
Discuss Problem-based and Emotion-based strategy
-Problem-based strategy is helpful when you need to change your situation by removing a stressful thing from your life
An emotion-based strategy is helpful when you need to take care of your feelings when you either don’t want to change your situation or are out of control.
