Q

Speaking in general terms an oboe player often (especially students) take too much reed into the mouth and exert excessive jaw pressure. If that is true what issues does it present?

A

this will produce a sharp pitch in general
this produces in general a very poor tone quality.
this makes it harder to adjust the pitch.
