Describe the topography of the Rheingau and the different soils within.
A horizontal N to S slope from the Taunus mountains down to the Rhine River. The soils at the top of the slope are more slate. The soils at the bottom are more clay, loess, and alluvial.

Dernau is a town in the Ahr and Meyer-Nackel is located there. Greywacke soils!
Where would you find Scharzhofberg and who produces it?
Scharzhofberg is produced by Egon Muller and is located in the Saar.
What are the VDP permitted varieties for the Pfalz?
VDP permits Pinot Noir, Weissburgunder, and Riesling to be produced in the Pfalz.
