Prince George was a friend of Fox
Fox saw it as a chance to take power
What did Fox begin to do?
Defend and advocate for ROYAL PREROGATIVE so Regency could happen without agreement from Parliament
What did Pitt to in reaction to Fox’s support of Regency Bill?
Pitt also wanted Regency otherwise had to resign
Insisted that George could only take over WITH consent of Parliament subject to their conditions
Why Did Pitt want Parliaments control over regency
Parliament would have power over Regent and so can’t dismiss Pitt and put Fox in power

Fox defended Royal Prerogative = lost votes
Pitt stood up for Parliamentary power

- No power to grant pensions
