cause diminished visual acuity
What is myopia commonly known as?
short-sightedness

will not be able to focus on distant objects

cornea too curved or eyeball too long

will not be able to focus on nearby objects

cornea too shallow or eyeball too short
What type of lens is used to treat hyperopia?
convex lens
What is astigmatism?
a condition where the shape of the cornea is irregular- this leads to light being refracted differently in different parts of the eye
How will someone with astigmatism’s vision be affected?
they will find it difficult to see objects at any distance
What type of lens is used to treat astigmatism?
cylindrical
