Q

What is refraction?

A

Refraction is the change in direction of a wave as it crosses the boundary between two media(air to water)in which the wave travels at different speed

Q

Why does total internal reflection occur?

A

When the angle of incidence is greater the the critical angle than the light undergoes total internal reflection, fibre optic cables use this

Q

Why does refraction occur?

A

Refraction occurs because light changes speed when it moves between different materials. When light hits the boundary at an angle, one part of the light wave enters the new material before the other part, causing it to bend.
