A

A Frair named Johann Tetzel was using indulgences wrongly for money to rebuild St. Peter’s Cathedral. So Luther wrote 95-Thesis to attack him.

A

German peasants wanted Luther’s support to revolt to not be peasants. Luther said no. German peasants felt betrayed and rejected Luther’s religious leadership.

How did Luther affect the German states and religion?

A

Many northern princes supported Lutheranism. They saw his teachings as good use to seize church properties and assert their independence from Charles V. German princes who were against Luther joined forces against him and then a big protest started. People in the German states could kept their money.

A

Henry became the head of the Church and the next rulers might change this making the people switch from one religion to another based on the next ruler’s beliefs. It affected money by not having to pay taxes on Rome.

A

Elizabeth established a state church where Catholics/Protestants and priests in the church of England were allowed to marry. They could deliver sermons in English. To please Catholics they kept some of the trappings like rich robes. No one gets offended.
