Primitive reflexes?
Moro - sudden extension of head causes symmetrical extension then flexion of the arms
Grasp
Rooting - head turns to stimulus when touched near mouth
Stepping response - when held vertically with feet touching surface
Asymmetrical tonic neck reflex - lying supine, infant adopts outstretched arm on side to which head is turned
Postural reflexes (develop while primitive regress)
Labyrinthine righting - head moves opposite direction to direction body is tilting
Postural support - when help upright, legs take weight and may push up (bounce)
Lateral propping - in sitting, arm extends to side that is falling
Parachute - when falling face down, arms will extend to save themselves
