A

Scoring 1 point each:

  • Largest diameter >/=7mm
  • Inflammation
  • Oozing
  • Change in sensation

When should patients be referred for melanoma?

A

GP should refer to suspected cancer pathway for melanoma if 7-point checklist score of >/= 3. Referral to be made within 24hrs of seeing the patient. Most 2 week wait referrals also need a Rockwood Score (Clinical Frailty Score), recent bloods (eGFR) and BMI.

How are pigmented lesions assessed?

A
  • Asymmetry
  • Border - uneven border is worrying
  • Colour - moles with >/=2 colours
  • Diameter - moles >5mm
  • Elevation - moles that are becoming raised
  • Firm - a mole feels firm or solid
  • Growing - a mole showing signs of change
