Q

Steps to balancing ion electron equations

A

Check the main element is balanced (not O2)
Add water to balance O2
Add H+ to balance hydrogens
Add electrons to ensure charge is the same on both sides

Q

How is a Standard Solution made?

A

” The weight sample is dissolved in a small volume of deionised water
in a beaker and the solution transferred to a standard flask. The beaker
is rinsed and the rinsings also poured into the standard flash.
The flask is made up to the mark adding the last few drops of water using
a dropping pipette. The flask is stoppered and inverted several times to
ensure thorough mixing of the solution
