Redemption
Making up for the wrongs done by other people to bring humans back into relationship with God.
Salvation
Freedom/being saved from sin and eternal separation from God (for all humans)
Conscience
For Christians, it is the voice of God in our hearts, guiding us to make the right choices.
Natural Instinct
People are born with an understanding of right and wrong - God through the Holy Spirit guides people to make the right choices.
Educated Conscience
Catholics can only do the right thing where they have enough knowledge to make the right decision.
The Church
The holy people of God, also called the body of christ, among whom christ is most present and active.
A church
A building in which Christians worship.
Altar
Place of Sacrifice where the offering of the mass is made to God.
Stations of the cross
A series of 14 images that remind Catholics of Jesus’ final journey to the cross.
Hosts
The small communion breads that are given out at Communion.
Consecration
The point in the mass when the bread and wine is blessed (consecrated) and become the body and blood of christ.
Lectern
The reading stand from which the bible readings are given and the word of God is proclaimed.
Paschal sacrifice
A term that refers to the last supper, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus.
