A

-cliches in stave 5 used e.g the simile ‘happy as an angel’ to demonstrate how light-hearted Scrooge feels now he is making steps to become a philanthropist

-in addition Dickens uses pathetic fallacy to demonstrate Scrooge’s redemption
-‘cold, bleak, biting’ changes to ‘no fog, no mist…golden sunlight’
-represent Scrooge’s newfound enjoyment within life
-alternatively suggest weather dependent on Scrooge so society is also dependent on Scrooge
