What are some cons of recycling metals ?
Costs money and energy
Metals have to be separated before being recycled however that depends on the properties of the final product
What happens to scrap steel ?
Added to iron from a blast furnace to reuse the amount of iron that need to be extracted from iron ore
What are some advantages of adding scrap steel to a blast furnace ?
Conserves copper as it is a finite resource
Users less energy
Produces less waste
