A
inspection -seperate buttocks
-anal tone
strain down - see If any abnormal movement
apply gel lube
insert finger
anal tone - push through and assess anal tone and ask patient to squeeze your finger
and rotate finger around anal wall
palpate the prostate on anterior wall of recctum
ask patient to bear down - to check for any lesions
withdraw finger and assess finger for blood/stool/pus
