Cockpit Voice Recorder

A

Effective 10th of May 2019 minimum CVR recording time increased from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

CVR can be erased by pilot however Park break must be set and aircraft must be stationary.

Connected to your craft power supply however they DO contain a backup battery

Flight data recorder (FDR)

A

Designed to record a number of parameters, AirSpeed altitude heading etc. Stored in the empanadas of the aircraft.
Fully automatic recording from engine start to shut down. Pilot is unable to erase the data on FDR unlike CVR.

Comparable difference between (aircraft integrated data system), AIDS and FDR

A

AIDS is optional recording system. AIDS gathers data of aircraft performance, engine condition and ADU health.

Can be exist via maintenance page on ECAM/EICAS screens
