What does Salesforce lock when you perform an update on any record. What is the risk of lock contention?
Updated record and sharing records are locked.
Updating locks target record and may result in the creation and/or deletion of one or more sharing records in a private sharing model.
What does Salesforce lock when you perform a delete on any record. What is the risk of lock contention?
Record being deleted, sharing records are locked.
Deleting locks the record being
deleted and one or more sharing
records in a private sharing
model.
Risk of lock contention is low
When updates (or deletes) are done on an account record, what is locked and what is the risk of lock contention?
Group table is locked, and the risk of lock contention is high.
Lock occurs if updating the owner
field of, or deleting, an Account
that has associated community or
portal roles.
When inserts (or deletes) are done on an accountTeamMember and CaseTeamMember record, what is locked and what is the risk of lock contention?
Associated Account, Case, or Opportunity is locked and the risk of lock contention is high.
AccountTeamMember inserts, updates and deletes can result in the creation and deletion of child implicit shares on Cases, Contacts and Opportunities but associated object records are not locked. CaseTeamMember and OpportunityTeamMember inserts & deletes can result in the creation or deletion of a parent implicit account share, however existing parent implicit shares are not locked.
When inserts (or deletes) are done on a CampaignMember record, what is locked and what is the risk of lock contention?
Associated Campaign, Contact or Lead is locked.
