SEIZURE RULES INTX . 2 0 1 0 . 1 0 7
The cadet will recall rules for collecting narcotic or drug substances, to include:

A

♦ Use care when searching illicit narcotic or drug scenes to avoid being pricked by hypodermic needles – If skin is punctured, wash the area with soap and water, get medical attention, and report the exposure♦ Packaging of controlled substances
• It is an acceptable practice to package a dry powder substance in a plastic container or bag

• Mark weight and suspected drug content
♦ Chain of custody considerations

Suspect to officer, (listing the date, location and time); officer to evidence locker; evidence locker to crime lab for testing
