What happened and how was the rebellion stopped?

A
  • Kett occupied Norwich
  • Northampton (member of the nobility) was sent to suppress the rebels. However, Kett beat him and recaptured Norwich.
  • Northumberland (John Dudley) was now sent to suppress the rebellion with 12,000 men. He offers a pardon at first but was refused.
  • Northumberland was successful in defeating the rebels.
  • 3,000 rebels slaughtered
  • Kett was arrested and later hung.
