Large numbers of clergy fled abroad to join the nobles who had fled , this greatly contributed to widespread fear and paranoia of an invasion

Influence and reaction of the SC
Journee 10th Aug 1792 - 20,000 marched to tuileries leading to Louis being temporarily suspended suggesting their radical agenda and discontent with Louis meant that they didn’t support the constitutional monarchy
Danton , SC favourite , was appoint minister of justice in summer of 1792 suggesting the radical views of the SC were heard and they held considerable power
