Reasons for joining Flashcards
What is your motivation?
As my first preference joining RAAF:
- I want to join a community who are dedicated to pushing boundaries with technology and also known to be innovative in how we protect our national interest.
- I want to be a great model for my daughter. I want her to see me as a person who is respected in the community. Someone who can she look up to and show her that she can achieve anything with dedication and hard work.
- It gives me the sense of stability and purpose in life. There is something about giving back to the community and protecting your country that makes me feel that I’m apart of something bigger.
- Knowing I’m making an imact ont he safety of the country is very rewarding
Give me an example of leadership and team work?
While I have been a sub contractor for the Army under my current employer One IT:
There was project deadline and me and my colleague was told last minute.
There was an actual budget for a truck but never got told until mid way through the project.
The goal was to remove all ICT equipment into three separate buildings in the robertson barracks.
We were given four days to do it with just me and my colleague which is a 4 man job.
With the project manager directing the move down south and had no clue what to do. I took the initiative to co-ordinate everything on ground level and pro-actively communicated where and when the assets will be move.
This was crucial as other shareholders were counting on smooth operation to set up multiple offices.
Instead of complaining i took it as a challenge. Lead by example by coming in early and always debriefing with the project team.
Without the truck and using just a caddy. We manage to get it done in 4 days.
All shareholders were happy.
These definitely shown examples of great leadership. Involving taking initiative, lead by example and always being open to communication.
