Freehold
An interest in real estate without a predetermined time span (an estate of uncertain duration).
Chattel
Personal property including autos and household goods and fixtures
Tenancy at sufferance
Tenancy established when a lawful tenant remains in possession of property after expiration of a lease (landlord may oust tenant at any time).
Tenancy at will
A license to use or occupy lands and tenements at the will of the owner (tenant may leave or be put out at any time).
Tenancy in common
An ownership of realty by two or more persons, each of whom has an undivided interest, without the right of survivorship.
*upon death, his ownership share is inherited by the party designated in his will
Joint Tenancy
Ownership of realty by two or more persons, each of whom has an undivided interest with right of survivorship
