What is a staff
The lines that go across the sheet
What is the symbol on the top staff?
Treble Clef (high notes right hand)
What is the symbol on the bottom staff?
Bass Clef (Low Notes left hand)
What do the lines and spaces tell you?
What note to play and where to play it
What notes are the lines on the treble clef?
E, G, B, D, F (Every Good Boy Does Fine) start from the bottom line to the top line e.g. E is on bottom
What notes are the spaces on the treble clef?
F, A, C, E Start from the bottom and work your way up e.g. F is on the bottom
What notes are the lines on the Bass clef?
G, B, D, F, A (Good Boys Do Fine Always) Start from the bottom and work your way up
What notes are the spaces on the Bass clef?
A, C, E, G (All Cows Eat Grass)
Start from the bottom and work your way up
What are ledger lines
Ledger lines extend the notes that you can play e.g. 1 ledger line down is C because the bottom is E and one below that is D and if you go one below that one then you get C and a ledger line vice versa
What are the bars in between the 2 staffs?
Bar lines (used to help us keep track of where we are when playing)
What are the spaces in between the bar lines called?

If they are lower in pitch or to the left they are flat(BLACK KEYS)
