Follow the 15-20-25 rule
15 min for Passage 1
20 min for Passage 2
25 min for Passage 3
2 min for transferring answers in the ANSWER sheet

Focus on Scanning instead of Reading
Scan for the Main Ideas
Scan for key words
Underline the key words and details

Read Instructions carefully
Most sentence completion will ask for “Not More than 3 words”
Always stick to the exact word style
If the text reads as “first” and answer is ‘second”, do not write as “2nd”
All words including “a” and “the” are also counted as words

MCQ options in the reading section
Every para in the passage might have just one question
Elimination strategy in MCQs
Always check for T/F/NG -
- Is the option TRUE
- Is the option FALSE
- is the option NOT GIVEN
Creating a Mental map of the passage
- Note main ideas in the margin
- Underline Key Words in passage
- Scan for main ideas / specifics
Gap-Fill questions should always refer to the words in the listed options OR from the passage text

Use cross-out options if instructions indicate that only one option is correct especially for Match List and Gap Fills and Sentence Complete
