Refers to words that connect one idea to another, making the writers ideas flow smoothly
Transition
Include a word, a phrase, or a full sentences repeated to highlight it’s importance in the entire text
Repetition
Are words similar in meaning to important words or phrases. This techniques is used if direct repetition is too obvious
Synonyms
Are used to connect sentences by referring to preceding nouns and pronouns
Pronouns
Include the use of matching words, phrases, clauses, or sentence structure to express similar ideas (use of and/or)
Parallel structure
