What does it stand for, what are the possible values, and what do each of the possible values mean?

A

Sphere- Main correction

>> *N*egative values indicate *n*earsightedness, while positive values indicate farsightedness.

>> “PL” or “DS” in place of a numerical value means that there is no correction- 0.00- for the sphere.

A

Cylinder- For astigmatism CYL must both be negative or both be positive for OS and OD

A

Axis of tilt- for astigmatism >> 0-180 (no negatives) >> Cannot have Axis without CYL or CYL without Axis
