What is more reactive sodium or potassium?
Potassium
What is an endothermic reaction
A reaction that takes in energy
What is a exothermic reaction?
A reaction that gives out energy
What is the oxygen test
Blow out the fire put it in a jar with oxygen and if it lights then the fire should start again- it relight a glowing splint
What is the test for hydrogen?
You put hydrogen gas in a jar then attach a tube then leave test tubes in it then light a splint and then put the splint in the tube- makes a squeaky noise
What is the test for carbon dioxide?
Put lime water to carbon dioxide- it will turn the lime water cloudy
What reacts quicker, powder or chips?
Powder
Is an explosion exothermic or endothermic?
Exothermic
What is the opposite of an explosion
Implosion
What is a chemical change
A change that cannot be put back to its original form
What is a physical change?
It can be turned back to its original form and no new forms/substances will be created
Which word describes a change from particles being widely spaced and moving around freely, to moving around very close to each other
- melting
- evaporating
- freezing
- condensing
Condensing
Which technique would you use to separate two liquids with different boiling point?
Distillation
