Reactance, Impedance & Filter Circuits Flashcards
Steady State Response
An electronic circuit response to either DC signals or fixed sine, cosine or repetitive signals
What need to happen for a circuit to reach steady states
Generally goes through a period of sudden changes, such as being switched from OFF to ON
Transient Response
The response of the circuit to theses sudden change
Step Response
The response of the stimulus to the electronic system is a step function (e.g. it goes from a low voltage level to a high voltage level)
Why are RC and CR circuits are called first-order systems
Their behaviours are determined with a first-order differential equation
First-order system transient responses
𝑣 = 𝑉 ! + ( 𝑉 “ − 𝑉 ! ) × 𝑒 # “! 𝑖 = 𝐼 ! + ( 𝐼 “ − 𝐼 ! ) × 𝑒 # “!
where 𝑉” and 𝐼” are the initial values of the voltage and current, and 𝑉! and 𝐼! are the final values of voltage and current
