Grace
Free gift(Jesus is God’s free gift to the human race and an expression of God’s love to humans).
Son of God
Jesus acknowledges he’s fully God e.g. in Mark 14 he claims “I am” God
Son of Man
To emphasise Jesus is fully human and fully God:”Jesus began to teach that the Son of Man must undergo great suffering”- Mark 8:31
Crucifix
A reminder of the crucifixion of Jesus(Jesus willing to go through pain and suffering to show love for God)and God’s act of love in freeing people from the power of
sin and death
Annunciation
The announcement to Mary that she will be the mother of Jesus, the son of God
Abortion
The deliberate termination of a pregnancy
Baptism
The pouring of water in order to cleanse sins
Reconciliation
Laying on of hands in order to pass God’s forgiveness
Marriage
Consent for partners to become husband/wife
Alpha and Omega
Represents belief God is involved in everything from the beginning to end of life
Ichthus
A symbol used by Christians as a declaration of their faith that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and the Saviour
Chi-Rho
A symbol that reminds Christians of the death of Jesus
Sermon the Mount
A sermon(talk) from Jesus giving a set of rules and values to apply to life(Matthew 5-7) on what’s right or wrong
The Beatitudes
The eight attitudes blessed by God which Jesus describes in the opening of the Sermon on the Mount
Sacred Heart
Shows final proof of Jesus’s love as he accepted death to ensure God forgave human sins, represented by crown of thorns which shows crown on Jesus’s head when he was mocked by soldiers during crucifixion
