What is raw data?
The measured quantities from instruments
Why multiple oscillations?
The period of an oscillating system is too short to be timed without uncertainty. Find the time taken for N times and divide it by N to find the period of one oscillation.
Number of oscillations should be large enough such that the time measured is greater than 20s.
Why repeated measurements?
Flush out obvious errors and reduce random errors.

all ratios to be recorded to least sf
log functions (lg x)
ans shld be the same no of DP as SF of x
(in the case x is a constant, ans shld be in 3dp)
eg. lg5.43 = 0.735
lg5 = 0.699 (3dp)
exponential functions (10^x)
ans should be in the same no SF as DP of x
eg. log^1.23=17 (2sf)
When data which is very small/very large is obtained?
present data in standard form
eg. L ³/ 10⁵ cm³ OR T⁴ / 10⁻² s⁴
