What is Advent?
The period of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas.

“Arrival” of the of something to happen.

What type of Massiah did the Hews want?
A military figure who fights the Romans and protects the Jews.
What type of Massiah did they get?
1: Warrior King- the Jews wanted to live like they did when King David ruled and Jews were respected. They wanted this Messiah, the Warrior King to bring God’s justice and peace along with him. They wanted Messiah to free them and give them their old lives back.
2: A leader- The Jew divided in rituals after the Kingdom of David and Solomon became a pale shadow. The Jews needed a leader to guide them the right direction.
What was the Massiah meant to do? Did Jesus do this?
Yes, because Jesus protected the Jews.
How have astrologers provided a historical element to the story of Jesus’ birth?
In the bible, there were stories told about big star shining in the sky on the night of Jesus’ birth. Astrologers figured that this was true because on that night Jupiter was seen from Earth’s atmosphere and appeared to look like a star.
What was the relationship between Mary and Elizabeth.
Mary was the niece of Elizabeth and Elizabethe was her aunt.
Why did Mary spend time with her aunt?
She spent time with her aunt to help her through her pregnancy.
