Measures operating performances free from financing
Return of Equity (ROE)
Includes the amount and cost of financing
Liquidity Ratios
Measures the ability of the firm to pay obligations as they become due
Working Capital Ratio (LR) - current ratio
Measures the extent of current assets exceeding current liabilities
=Current asset/current liabilities
Acid- Test Ratio (LR) - quick ratio
Measures how quickly highly liquid assets can be converted into cash to cover current liabilities
=Cash + net account receivables + Market securities/ current liabilities
Times interest earned ratio (LR)
Measures the ability of current earning to cover interest payments for a period
=Net income + interest expense + income tax/ interest expense
=income before interest expense+income tax/interest expense
Times preferred dividends earned ratio (LR)
Measures the ability of current earnings to cover dividends payments for a period
=Net income/ Annual preferred dividends obligation
Operational activity ratio
Measures the efficiency for which a firm carries out its operating activities
Account Receivable Turnover Ratio
Measures how efficiently a firm uses its assets
=Credit sales/Average of account receivable (beg+end/2)
Number of days in average receivable
Measures the average number of days required to collect receivables
=365/ Account Receivable Turnover ^
Inventory Turnover Ratio
Measures the number of times that inventory turnover (acquired and sold) during a period
=Cost of good sold/ Average Inventory (beg+end/2)
Number of days supply in inventory
Measures the number of days inventory is sold or used
=365/Inventory Turnover^
Operating number of cycle
Measures the average length of time invest cash into inventory, convert the inventory to receivables, and collect the receivables. Measures the time to from cash back to cash
=Days in operating= Number of days in AR+ length cycle of days supply in inventory
Cost Of Goods Sold
Beg inventory + Purchases - Ending Inventory = COGS
Net Account Receivables
Gross Account Receivables - allowance of uncollectible accounts
