There was social class and gender discrimination

The industrial revolutions
Why was there control of gambling?
There was increased law and order
Why was there amateurism/professionalism?
There was a class structure and spectators increased
Why was there fair play?
The public school influenced play
Why was there purpose built facilities?
Technology had advanced
