What are your differentials for a child presenting with a non-blanching rash?
A
- Meningococcal sepsis
- ITP
- IgA vasculitis (Henoch-Schönlein Purpura)
- Non-accidental injury

What are the clinical features of Henoch-Schönlein purpura?
A
- Skin: purpuric, non blanching rash usually on lower limb incl. butthocks
- Joint: Bilateral arthralgia+ arthritis, usually knee or ankle
- GI: abominal pain, malaemna,
- Renal: IgA glomerulonephritis and nephritic syndrome

What is the management of Henoch-Schönlein Purpura?
A
Usually supportive management
If proteinuria/haematuria
- regular periodical follow up until resolved
